FIAMC is the
International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations

(the letters F.I.A.M.C. are taken from the French name of the organization:
"Fédération Internationale des Associations Médicales Catholiques").

FIAMC is an official Catholic Lay Association, with its Head Office in Vatican City

FIAMC is divided into six regional groups:

	Africa
	Asia (Asian Federation of Catholic Medical Associations - AFCMA)
	Europe (Fédération Européenne des Associations de Médecins Catholiques - FEAMC)
	Latin America (Federacion de Asociaciones Médicas Catolicas Latino-Americanas - FAMCLAM)
	North America
	Oceana (Australia and New Zealand)

The main aim of FIAMC is to promote the practice of medicine, based on the true dignity of the human person.
To this end FIAMC regularly organises conferences on topical bioethical issues.
